K-Provoli and the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association, with particular interest on issues related to the patients’ safety when using medicines, organise for the second continuous year a series of informative events for pharmacists, so as to be ready to welcome the technology era and its influences to their profession and to the direct sales.

The subject that is raised is the safety of medicines and the isolation of the fictitiousness or adulteration phenomena. Mainly regarding the protection of the new or innovative medicines. The “route” of the medicine, from the producer to the patient, creates many questions related to the legal responsibility of involved institutions, the safety of the data, the speed of the transmission of the retractions information, the electronic networks, the social insurance in networking and its continuity to the pharmaceutical care.

9th PHARMACEUTICAL CONGRESS OF MACEDONIA-THRACE

The 9th Pharmaceutical Congress Macedonia of Thrace is going to be held on 7-9 May 2010, at the amphitheatre of the POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE of Serres, with the attendance of pharmacists from all over Northern Greece. The organisation of the congress has been undertaken by K-Provoli while the Congress is organised by the Pharmaceutical Association of Serres, with the support of the Pharmaceutical Associations of Northern Greece and under the aegis of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association.

During the Congress, pharmacists of the Pharmaceutical Associations of Macedonia and Thrace, as well as representatives of the Pharmaceutical Associations of the other parts of Greece and representatives of health institutions and pharmaceutical market, will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange opinions on current issues for the pharmaceutical field.

K-Provoli and the Pan-Hellenic Pharmaceutical Association, that is particularly sensitive to issues concerning people’s health, is organizing a series of informative events for pharmacists in cooperation with local pharmaceutical associations and the participation of eminent speakers, in order for the pharmacists to be informed about the benefits and the new achievements of science in the smoking cessation field.
Smoking is the first and most easily avoidable cause of death from cardiovascular disease in the whole world. Smokers are at least twice in the risk of ischemic heart disease rather than non-smokers Also smokers are twice to four times in the risk of sudden death. In regard to the development of lung cancer, smoking is implicated in 9 out of 10 cases of lung cancer in our country

The works of the 29th International Conference of Applied Aesthetics “INTERBEAUTE 2010”, that was organized by the international aesthetics’ magazine Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa, have been completed, meeting great success. On the conference that took place in the THEATRON of HELLENIC COSMOS’ cultural center on the 30th & 31st of January, participated more that 350 participants, while the exhibition accommodated 17 of the most important companies in the aesthetics’ branch.
